Salary will be based on the GS level for which you qualify.

This position is located in Region 2 in New York City, NY. Division/Branch assignments will be determined at the time of selection.

You will:

- Review files, records and other documents to compile and summarize information pertaining to environmental programs.
- Provide information and assistance on procedural requirements and formats for filing various applications, permits, or related forms and documents which may be required.
- Collect track, compute, and summarize statistical information and data in chart and narrative forms.
- Conduct information searches and review references and guidelines to resolve problems and questions in assigned functional area.

Based on where you are placed you will do one of the following sets of duties:

- Assist in the implementation of the Superfund program's Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) activity.  Assist in data gathering, data entry, data analysis, and preparing presentations for staff and managers.
- Assist in the Brownfields program by preparing grant packages for award to grantees and providing general assistance to program staff.  Research site applicability and eligibility, contacting grantees about new grant opportunities from other media.  Assist in tracking and reporting Brownfields program accomplishments.

OR

- Assist with the completion of a personnel management information system called "STAFFINGr2".  Assists with the establishment information baseline for information assets (such as VOIP equipment, blackberries, cell phones, RSA tokens, application software)  which will be linked into STAFFINGr2. Assists in implementing a new process for updating the Region's Organizational Chart.

At the higher grade level, your assignments will be more complex and you should need less guidance from your supervisor.


Qualifications and Evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.

The following are the basic requirements for positions by grade.

GS-3:  Six months general experience OR one year above high school.

GS-4:  Six months of full time experience OR two years of education above high school with courses related to this position.

You must be a student who is continuing your education beyond the Spring 2011 semester.
