About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation " Center of Excellence." Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

    1 vacancy - AL - Ft. Rucker

    Receives and reviews prescriptions for the full range of Pharmaceuticals handled by the pharmacy. Determines type of substance (i.e. drug or pharmaceutical), form, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy SOP. Obtains the pharmaceutical, prepares package labels, and sets up for pharmacist review. Advises pharmacist of any significant issues or problems connected with the specific medication. Coordinates with prescriber or other hospital staff on any pertinent issues or questions concerning the medication or patient. Insures strict adherence to correct operation and maintenance of equipment. Establishes and maintains files for a variety of manual and automated records concerning pharmacy operations. Assists in inventory to include controlled substances.

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in Federal Service. To be highly qualified applicants must possess the following knowledge, skill and ability: 1) Knowledge of different types of substance (i.e. drug or pharmaceutical), form, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy SOP. 2) Knowledge of packages. Ability to label products and insure that they are properly handled, stored, and accounted for. 3) Skilled in establishing and maintaining files for a variety of manual and automated records concerning pharmacy operations. These include prescription and patient records, stock and inventory records, as well as miscellaneous administrative files.

  • GS-05: One year of experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level, or a 4 year course of study above the high school level leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to this occupation, or a combination of experience and education.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching.
