Organizational Overview
Founded in 1993, Women for Women International (WfWI) is dedicated to providing women survivors of war with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. WfWI currently works in eight countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sudan. During the last 18 years, WfWI has transformed the lives of more than 315,000 socially-excluded women and distributed over $100 million in direct aid and microcredit loans, benefiting more than 1.7 million family and community members in the process. In 2010, over 80,104 women in all eight countries received program services, with more than 46,363 sponsors from 88 countries across the world. WfWI has over 600 employees worldwide, and each of our country offices are fully staffed by women and men from the local community.
Purpose
This is a two to three month temporary position with potential to become permanent depending on funding.
Sponsorship Operations Department manages the process of sponsorship of one woman at a time and drives revenue through recurring contributions. The department relies heavily on metrics to measure and drive efficiency, quality and performance. As part of the Sponsorship Operations Team, the Business Data Analyst will report directly to Sponsorship Operations Manager and be a key member of maintaining donor database integrity and continuously improving toward data-driven and efficient business operation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting and Analytics a. Prepare and publish regular reports to track performance goals for Sponsorship, Marketing and other departments as approved; b. Maintain library of overall organizational stats and other frequently requested stats; c. Assist in identifying operational improvements and other alerts based on data trends; d. Interface with all departments and generate ad hoc analytics as needed; e. Provide data pulls and list requests specific to the direct mail program and other fundraising and communication efforts; f. Track and escalate data and reporting needs for all departments to supervisor and assist in finding solutions and/or create and execute report; g. Provide analytic input to users of reporting to ensure that the reports are providing the requested information. Suggest modifications and/or improvements in reporting designs based on knowledge of the information desired.
- Database End User Support a. Develop and maintain database orientation materials and host periodic training session for most common database uses; b. Assist end-users on database use to best meet business needs and maintain data and process integrity; c. Track and escalate database issues and new function to supervisor
- Operation Coordination a. Assist in defining and execute data imports/updates. Facilitate regular data cleansing through NCOA, de-duping and other maintenance procedures;
b. Assist in executing gift processing procedure; c. Prepare data and send out gift processing related communication to supporter; d. Assist in Sponsorship department long term project(s) as needed. - Professionalism a. Accepts constructive feedback; b. Conveys a positive attitude both within and outside the group; c. Displays sound and fair judgment; d. Gives 100% effort at work and encourages others to do the same; e. Shows initiative/ proactive problem solving within the customer service organization and in cross team discussions; f. Skills and Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Economics, or information science related fields •Entry level position with a minimum of two years experience in data analysis role within a business operations department or organization. Experience in creating operational and management reports. •This position is subject to and must pass a background check. •Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and/or Access, basic knowledge of SQL, and familiarity with other productivity and presentation applications. •Strong analytical skills, comfort with numbers, aptitude and willingness new analysis methods •Strong verbal communication and documentation skills on processes, code and functions. •Must be willing/able to take on tasks with minimal supervision •Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented •A commitment to Women for Women International’s mission and vision •Interest in learning the inner workings of a growing non profit
