Private Sector Fundraising Officers, Thursday 22, September 2011

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking two seasoned fundraising professionals to fill the roles of Private Sector Fundraising Officers with one concentrating their efforts in North East Asia and one in South East Asia. These Officers will work under the direction of the Asia Pacific (AP) Area Office - Director, Resource Development and will commit to working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organization in relation to meeting the fundraising goals for our Asia Pacific work. These two positions will be based in HFHI’s AP Area Office in Bangkok, Thailand with the exception that the North East Asia position also includes the possibility of being based in a country relevant to the fundraising efforts of this position.
The Key Objectives and Responsibilities of the positions are as follows:
  1. Establish a strategic and systematic focus on closing major donor commitments from high net-worth individuals and large corporations in assigned countries in collaboration with the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) National Organization (NO) leadership in Resource Development and in consultation with the NO CEO.
  2. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward qualified prospects and donors, developing a portfolio of approximately 100 to 200 qualified relationships in a defined territory and in collaboration and in discussion with the assigned country/region's senior management
  3. Routinely network with Fortune 500 executives, and interact with high net-worth individuals (USD 25M+ in net assets) for the purpose of cultivating personal relationships and developing personal giving and/or corporate giving through such networks developed.
  4. Provide accurate and timely activity and pipeline reports and revenue forecasts.
  5. Convincingly articulate the unique selling proposition.
  6. Guide the development of compelling proposals and oversee the development of creative presentations and reports.
  7. Lead, discuss and help close complex sales such as campaign and endowment gifts, planned gifts, and investment and financial products as they evolve.
  8. Provide accurate and timely activity and pipeline reports and revenue forecasts.
  9. Effectively manage HFHI resources including travel and business expenses.
  10. Represent the organization when assigned in business sector or such appropriate sector or events for marketing, networking, and initiating innovative partnerships for the growth and development of Habitat for Humanity.
Required Skills:
  1. BA/BS required, MBA and Training in Fundraising in Asian and/or exposure to USA and European region desirable
  2. 5+ years of front-line experience in fundraising from corporations, high net-worth individuals in large, nation-wide setting or regional setting as part of a nationally/regionally deployed team or front-line sales in a corporate setting with a passion for social development projects and marketing
  3. Demonstrated track record or successful fundraising in an environment of similar complexity; Experience in a multi-national federated organization with the ability to thrive
  4. USD 15 Million + in total closed personally during career
  5. Innovative, creative, strategic and analytical thinker
  6. Ability to engage senior managers and board members in donor visits, and to earn and maintain their confidence
  7. Superior presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with diverse constituencies including principal donors, Board members, national staff and leadership in the field
  8. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, and to listen, and an unusual capacity to engage, inspire and persuade
  9. Strong development-related technology skills (internet, social media etc.)
  10. An individual of unquestionable integrity whose professional and personal conduct reflects HFH's Christian principles and values
