About the role To manage the development of and coordinate the implementation processes of Programme Accountability and Learning Systems - PALS (including facilitating the network of Monitoring, Evaluation and Research staff) across the global organisation.
Main responsibilities •Develops and manages updating of the PALS guidelines – the basic core guidelines, the supporting ‘How to…’ guides and the Toolkit resource •Plans activities and initiatives with the networks of MER staff and key staff involved in PALS to support and strengthen the further development and implementation of PALS •Is responsible for the implementation of a PALS budget •The requirement of the system (software) that supports PALS. •Has responsibility to maintain and enhance PALS •Ensures the development of new system (software) to support PALS •Designs and executes training courses on PALS across the organization (Country Offices, Regional Offices, National Organisations) where necessary •Monitors the effective use of PALS across the organization. •Collate PALS data from all countries for both external and internal audiences as required: Identifies and responds to key program information requirements of different stakeholders within the organisation and works to make information accessible on timely basis. •Promotes the use of PALS and its products throughout the organization. •Manages the PALS site on Plan’s intranet. •Informs the manager of the Program Effectiveness Team about the status of PALS across Plan through regular updates •Participation in external NGO fora on Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure Plan processes reflect sector best practice.
About you •Masters level or equivalent degree and/or extensive experience in corporate systems for planning, monitoring and evaluation. •Extensive experience as a development professional •An understanding of and commitment to the aims and values of Plan. •Knowledge of current international development trends and Child Rights programming. •Experience in corporate systems for planning, monitoring and evaluation. •Experience of managing staff •Experience of working in developing countries desirable
Languages You must be fluent in English and a second language either French or Spanish would be advantageous
Location and Travel The post is based in International Headquarters in Woking UK with International Travel
