GENERAL OBJECTIVE AND CONTEXT Accountable to the Watsan Technical Referent the WATSAN MIO main objective is to help in the deployment and implementation of the Water Hygiene and Sanitation policies, strategies and procedures of the organization. This implementation will be done directly, with the pertinent adaptations and corrections agreed with his/her responsible, and through the training of the personnel involved in watsan in the missions.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The job is structured around 3 main tasks: MSF operations/field visits and assessments participating in exploratory missions, emergencies, program support visits and project committee meetings. Evaluate WHS programs, specific WHS activities within projects and project proposals. Provide support for the choice and development of WHS personnel in accordance with the specialities required
Emergency Support: assuming the post of Watsan Coordinator where appropriate, defining watsan strategy and implement, follow-up and monitoring of projects and providing coaching to less experienced watsans
Training: The WATSAN MIO will participate in the review, design and presenting of MSF training modules. Coaching of other human resources in the field will also form an important component of his/her responsibilities.
Others When the MIO W is not on mission and after enjoying his/her R&R / holidays, s/he will support the Watsan Unit in tasks to be defined, which amongst others could include, temporarily doing the backup of the Watsan Technical referent responsible.

Participation in Conferences, Lectures, Seminars and Events to discuss MSF WHS technical solutions applied in the field, and to extend our knowledge to organizations, Universities, training courses, etc.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Education and experience • Technical education related to the job profile. • Watsan experience of at least 2 years.. • MSF field experience as a watsan. • Good command of English and French, Spanish desirable

CONDITIONS • Based in the field with frequent travelling and supervisions to the projects (minimum 80 % of his/her working time) • Contract duration: Between 8 to 12 months depending on availability of candidates and field visits to define during interview. • Full time job • Annual gross salary: 26,389.68 Euros (divided into 12 months payments) + secondary benefits based on MSF OCBA Reward Policy • Practical working conditions while in the field are as per the MSF-OCBA guideline. • Starting date: JAN 2012
