In 2011, AusAID commenced a new program to support the PNG education sector. This support includes direct financing, procurement, scholarships and technical assistance. A major focus of technical assistance is the provision of high quality capacity development to the Department of Education to help sustain the gains the Department has recently made towards achieving Universal Basic Education.
The objective of this verification exercise is to advise the DoE and AusAID on the accuracy of EMIS data and the effectiveness of the EMIS vis-à-vis the school subsidy process and to establish a documented EMIS data verification process in partnership with DoE EMIS officers that can be used by the DoE thereafter.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• strong background and experience in statistics, including excellent quantitative analysis skills • familiarity with working within a government, preferably in a developing country context
