Microfinance Programme Manager - (£36’270 to £40’300)
The Microfinance Programme Manager will manage the effective delivery of Plan UK’s programme responsibilities under the ‘Banking on Change’ partnership with CARE International and Barclays. The programme establishes Village Savings and Loans Associations/ Self Help Groups in 7 Plan country offices in Africa and Asia, aimed at increasing household income and enabling them to manage variations in income and expenditure, while also including a variety of innovations aimed at ensuring sustainability of the approach and linking households at the “bottom of the pyramid” to formal financial services. The landscape in which the Partnership’s microfinance projects will be undertaken is complex, with a diverse range of knowledge and content, providers and audiences. This complexity means that the effective management of communications – ensuring the right people receive the appropriate messages – and resources will be vital.

We are looking for applicants with extensive programme and budget management experience, preferably in the area of microfinance or household economic security. Due to the nature of the role, proven experience of successfully managing complex relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including providing management and advice from a distance is vital. Candidates should be able to effectively communicate results and learning from programme work verbally and in writing to a range of internal and external audiences.
