Checchi and Company Consulting, Inc. (www.checchiconsulting.com) is seeking a new Chief of Party for the El Salvador Justice System Improvement Program, a long-term task order funded by USAID. The Program provides technical assistance to the institutions of the Salvadoran criminal justice system, centering around a new Criminal Procedure Code. Program activities include the following: promoting more effective coordination between the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and the National Civilian Police (NCP), strengthening the AGO’s efficiency in case processing, improving the NCP’s capacity for implementing a community policing model, supporting initiatives to reduce sexual and domestic violence, and increasing the use of court-annexed mediation. The Chief of Party will supervise and manage all activities to ensure that Program operations are carried out in a well-coordinated and efficient manner. He/she will supervise the work of a long-term technical assistance team, short-term specialists and local support staff. He/she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with justice sector institution counterparts, USAID Mission personnel, and civil society organizations active in Program areas. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, including prior experience as either a Chief of Party or a Deputy Chief of Party with USAID-funded technical assistance programs.
Candidates must be attorneys and fluent in Spanish.
