Job Duties and Responsibilities The ideal candidate will serve as a key member of the Configuration Management team providing support to DCGS-A Program and Product Managers. Responsible for enforcing existing and establishing new CM environments, policies and procedures, guidelines, CM planning, reporting and audits, product scope change control, version control, CM documentation and product component integration related to DCGS family of systems/products. Analyses and recommendations are made with full understanding and consideration of how they will impact other functions and long-term plans. Understands the "big picture" and is able to articulate recommendations accordingly along with the ability to work on cross-functional teams providing support to CM processes and platforms. Candidate must be detail oriented, organized, dependable, and willing to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility. Work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers and representatives, draftsmen and design/manufacturing engineers in a concurrent engineering environment; Develop and administer Configuration Management Plans; Prepare for and conduct major configuration audits. Reviews released engineering change data and changes documenting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.Administer the CM environment. Provide support for all CM initiatives. Enforce, develop, and administer CM plans, policies and procedures.
Support team of Configuration Management Engineers and software developers in the day to day operation of the Configuration Management and automation team.
Identify, control and track all versions of hardware, software, documentation, processes and procedures to ensure configuration data and their relationships to each other is accurate, up-to-date and available to all other areas.
Ensure only authorized components are used on the project and all changes are recorded and tracked throughout the project life cycle.
Identify configuration items and their relationships.
Enforce/establish configuration control processes.
Provide support on defect tracking and reporting of statistics and analysis.
Manage program office Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Engineering Change Proposal nominations (ECPns), coordinate and facilitate the Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings & provide meetings minutes and action items from the CCB, maintain ECP logs, etc
Perform configuration audits.
Qualifications Requires Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, and ten to twelve years of experience in the application of MIL and DoD requirements and management experience.
