Web Coordinator USA


The Communication for Education and Gender Equality (CEGE) group in UNICEF’s Division of Communication is looking for a dynamic, passionate and committed professional who wants to make a lasting difference for children. UNICEF seeks a Web Coordinator for the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) to be based in New York Headquarters.
Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist for
Education and Gender Equality, the consultant will, among other things, be the central point of contact for the UNGEI websites and work collaboratively with colleagues in the CEGE group, the UNGEI Secretariat, UNICEF Education Section and Division of Communication, and UNGEI partners. S/he will coordinate the production, maintenance and content development of the UNGEI website, coordinate the timely production and dissemination of a newsletter and other communication activities.
Your profile: • Advanced degree in international development, communication, or related fields • Project coordination experience working on website/software development projects • Excellent English writing and editing skills • Interest in education and gender equality essential, experience in developing countries a plus • Experience working on projects of similar scale, involving multiple users and groups • Experience in web site design, development and production. • Professional graphic and web design skills. Advanced knowledge of web design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and ImageReady. Good knowledge of Dreamweaver and Adobe Acrobat/Distiller. • Experience with current trends in technology and social media essential and web content management systems a plus. • Experience working on international issues a plus. • Sound knowledge of HTML, CSS, including source code editing, image optimization, and FTP. • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the web development field.
