Reliability Manager

Mission Statement:
Determine and defend the reliability of Client’s high power GaN products and core technology. Develop fundamental understanding of device reliability to drive further improvements to overall quality.

Desired Outcomes:
1) Qualification of new products per the product roadmap supporting timely release of new products in a predictable manner

2) Qualification and/or reliability assessment of new process platforms, process modules and device designs along with an understanding of failure mechanisms
a) High voltage (48V) GaN HEMTs
b) High frequency (3-12GHz) GaN HEMTs
3) Reduction/elimination of burn-in through improvements in device and process designs
4) Failure analysis of devices for both internal and external customers leading to improvement of understanding and quality
5) Develop and improve burn-in and reliability testing capability (both in-house and outsourced)
Core Competencies:

* Ability to plan and execute reliability activities such as ALT, HTOL, HTRB, HAST, THB, TDDB, ramped voltage breakdown testing, electro migration testing, and ESD characterization methods.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis methods, such as Weibull and lognormal lifetime distributions, intrinsic lifetime prediction, early life failure rates, statistical confidence limits, and life-test software packages such as JMP, Weibull+, Mini-Tab.
* Knowledge of JEDEC and MIL qualification standards. Ability to develop suitable qualification plans and drive consensus.
* Ability to collect and interpret failure analysis data generated using tools including C-SAM, SEM, FIB, EDAX and other techniques.
* Ability to defend the reliability results to internal and external customers.
* Knowledgeable about DC and RF testing considerations; ability to work with test experts to develop custom test plans as needed; ability to perform exploratory device testing to support experimental activities as needed.
* Knowledge of GaN materials technology and ability to work with materials scientists to drive improvements in device reliability.
* Ability to work cross-functionally to drive consensus amongst a wide variety of stake-holders
* Ability to plan projects, identify risks and execute in a predictable manner.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills with good analytical and decision making ability.
* Masters or PhD in semiconductor fields preferred.
* Minimum 5 years experience in the semiconductor reliability engineering function required. Prefer 10 years experience.
* Preferred candidates will have fundamental understanding of device physics, especially field effect transistor (FET) operation (DC on- and off-state, basic RF performance, Schottky diode fundamentals). They must also have an understanding of process and device design factors and their impact on device reliability.

Core Strengths:
* Excellent written and verbal communications
* Work with a natural sense of urgency
* Ability to remain results focused and to overcome obstacles
* Ability to be resourceful
* Excellent decision making skills
