Supports ICT Programs team and program teams in the day-to-day activities of planning, designing and implementing projects that integrate appropriate and sustainable technologies into NDI’s global democracy strengthening programs through:

- Investigates new technologies and identifies applications relevant for NDI programs.
- Provides assistance with technology implementation as needed.
- Drafts reports cataloguing best practices in political technology.
- Acts as primary support to Program Officers and backs-up other team members.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to projects as needed.
- Researches or contributes to memos, program updates, work plans, and articles.
- Assists with basic management of programs by appropriately responding to programmatic administrative support requests and maintaining accurate files and reports.
- Participates in ICT team documentation and project management systems.
- With guidance, compiles briefing materials for staff, consultants and volunteers.
- Makes contributions to staff portal and public blog.
- Takes part in strategic and work plan discussions.
- Participates in organizing local and regional program conferences, workshops and meetings.
- Maintains communication with field offices and NDI partner organizations overseas.
- Bachelor’s Degree in required; coursework in political science, international studies and/or computer science preferred;
- Experience developing web technologies highly desired;
- Political, campaign or organizing experience highly desired;
- Experience with open source technologies preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, US and foreign government personnel and NGO community.
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated interest in tinkering, and knowledge of political technology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability and willingness to travel to regional locations which are often remote and difficult to reach.
- Ability to meet with partners in-country and effectively articulate NDI mission statements and program/project initiatives.
