Introduction Save the Children’s origins lie in emergency response and it has remained central to our work ever since. Our approach integrates our emergency and development work, through the medium of our country programmes, which we expect to have the expertise for both types of work. With the increasing frequency and severity of emergencies worldwide the organisation is in the process of increasing its standby capacity to support programmes.
Job Purpose To manage the logistics support for large scale, sudden onset emergencies, chronic emergencies and a wide range of capacity building and preparedness initiatives for Save the Children UK. Working with the Operations Support and Preparedness Manager and the Capacity Building and Preparedness team to lead on strengthening and developing the logistics capacity and Emergency response capability of Save the Children programmes world-wide.
