You will work under the supervision of the Director of Programs for the Southwestern Division. The office is located in the downtown Dallas business district. Free parking is available for carpoolers. Daily and monthly parking lots are located throughout the downtown area, at a reasonable cost. Bus and train services are available and reimbursement for use of public transportation is available. There is one cafeteria and one snack bar located in the building and numerous eating establishments within walking distance.

    Duties

    Additional Duty Location Info:



    1 vacancy - TX - Dallas


    You will serve as Chief of Operations Division, the leader of the Operations and Regulatory Communities of Practice for the SWD region within the Programs Directorate of SWD. Delegated authority and responsibility for oversight of the Operations and Maintenance programs of the Regional Business Center including Navigation, Regulatory, Natural Resources Management, Critical Project Security, Flood Control, and Hydropower. Provide technical direction and intermediate supervision over 4-6 engineering/scientific positions and 1-2 supervisory program managers. Technical direction and higher level supervision of multi-disciplined professionals performing Operations Program work. Exercise command and control for the Director of Programs and Commander with regard to Operations and Maintenance and Regulatory Programs for subordinate districts. Provide program quality assurance and advice to the Programs Director and Commander on regional Operations and Maintenance and Regulatory activities.

  • SPECAILIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must possess the required education for the job series plus 1 year of Specialized Experience at the next lower band or equivalent grade level (GS-14) demonstating managing a large variety of complex, operations, maintenance and regulatory programs including command and control, long range planning, budget, execution, policy development and quality assurance responsibilities.



  • One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.



  • Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.   • Acquisition Corps membership is required prior to appointment to a CAP unless a waiver is granted.



  • All candidates who meet the basic qualification requirements will be considered. Subject to proof of membership, Acquisition Corps members from other services will be accepted by Army without additional review.



  • Selectees must sign an Acquisition Corps written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least 3 years.



  • Completion of mandatory acquisition certification requirements for this position is a condition of employment and must be accomplished within 24 months of assignment.
