OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
  1. To provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to the organisation in accordance with Greenpeace’s core values and purpose and in co-operation with Greenpeace International.
  2. To be responsible for the management and administration of Greenpeace France and work with the board to ensure proper governance and accountability.
  3. Ensure that Greenpeace France plays a key role in developing Greenpeace International’s campaign programme and makes the best possible contribution to the organisation’s international objectives.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Leadership
* In partnership with the Board and with Greenpeace International, set the vision, mission, strategic objectives and strategic priorities for the organisation, develop and nurture its philosophy and core values.
* Provide leadership and inspiration to staff and volunteers, and work with senior management to ensure a common vision and sense of purpose at every level.
* Ensure that there is a common understanding among staff, volunteers and other key stakeholders of the organisation’s vision, mission, strategic objectives and strategic priorities.
* Ensure that staff and volunteers at all levels are focussed on achieving the objectives of the organisation and operate at all times in accordance with the organisation’s core values.
* Develop and foster an organisational culture that attracts, retains and motivates staff and volunteers, and in which individuals constantly seek to learn and to improve their own performance and the performance of the organisation as a whole.
Strategic Developmen
* In partnership with the Board, with Greenpeace International and with senior staff members, develop a long term strategy for the organisation within the core values and objects.
* Monitor, review and as necessary amend the strategy on a regular basis in response to the external environment and in partnership with the Board and with Greenpeace International.
* Monitor and review the external environment for changes and developments that may affect the organisation and in consultation with the Board take action to amend or implement new plans as necessary.
Governance and relationship to the Board
* Ensure that the organisation fulfils all its legal statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
* Ensure that organisational risks are identified, understood and monitored and that there are systems in place to mitigate the risks, without compromising the organisation’s capacity for effective action.
* Ensure that the Board are kept informed of developments that might significantly affect the organisation, and kept abreast of legal actions affecting the organisation or individuals within it.
* Ensure that the Board are informed of any activities that might have legal implications for the Board or for individual board members.
* Take responsibility for the overall financial health of the organisation and ensure that appropriate financial and auditing systems are in place, so as to safeguard the organisation’s financial and other assets, and ensure the organisation is run efficiently and effectively.
* Provide the Board with regular reports as to the status of the organisation and progress against agreed plans, strategic objectives and board policies.
* In partnership with the Board ensure that the organisation has a governance structure appropriate to its size, objectives and mode of operation, which protects it from unnecessary risk and is in accordance with Greenpeace International guidance and norms.
* Ensure that the Board receives sufficient and timely information and advice to be able to make informed decisions, and that where board decisions are required these are clearly identified.
* Hold regular meetings with the Board Chair to discuss openly problems and progress, agree expectations, plan the programme and prepare for meetings with the full Board.
Operations
* Exert overall control of all aspects of the operation of the organisation including the implementation and evaluation of its overall strategies and polices, its campaign, financial, marketing, communications and administrative programmes.
* Ensure that the organisation’s plans and policies are relevant, fair and consistently implemented and accord with our core values.
* Ensure that proper financial controls and practices are adhered to at all times.
* Ensure that appropriate annual business and organisational plans are developed, agreed and implemented.
* Identify relevant methods for monitoring the performance of the organisation and report to the board on performance against approved business, financial and operational plans.

* Ensure that management structure and systems are appropriate to meet the organisation’s objectives and enable staff to carry out their work effectively and efficiently.
* Ensure that management policies and decisions are in line with the agreed strategic direction, priorities and core values of the organisation.
* Ensure that the recruitment, management, training and development of staff and volunteers are in line with good employment practice and directed towards achieving the organisation’s objectives.

* Participate personally in the recruitment of all senior staff, and involve the board in approving senior appointment.

Communications
* Foster good communications within the organisation, ensuring quality information flow between departments, in both directions within the management hierarchy and between the organisation and its volunteers.
* To develop the organisation’s public profile and foster appropriate and productive relations with for instance other non-governmental organisations, media organisations, and government, statutory and private bodies.
* Ensure that there are mechanisms in place to take account of the views of staff, volunteers and external stakeholders regarding both the performance of the organisation and potential areas for future attention.
* Represent the organisation and act as a spokesperson at public functions, meetings and to the media.

* Ensure that the organisation keeps abreast of best practice in all areas and works constantly to achieve this within the constraints set by the Board and the resources available.

Job Summary: To ensure coordination, implementation, integration, and development of overall HID programmes and other programmes under its supervision.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Strengthen the ongoing HID programme further, by consistently and appropriately monitoring, evaluating, innovating new ideas and thoughts, and provide timely inputs according to the laid vision and mandate of the HID programme. • Guide and monitor various projects, within the broader HID programme: local governance capacity building, civil society capacity building, Community-Based Saving Groups (CBSG) capacity building, state capacity building, business association capacity building, etc. as per their laid goal and direction. • Design and ensure qualitative implementation of capacity building plan for a wide range of development actors, including state, with minimal external assistance.

Required Qualifications and Experience: • Relevant postgraduate degree from an internationally reputable academic institution. • A minimum of seven years experience in dealing with local governance/civil society, particularly directly working on capacity building of local governance bodies and CSOs, including proven experience of assessing capacity building needs of the Government, NGOs, community-based organizations, and the private sector through appropriate frame works and techniques. • Possesses decent understanding and experience of designing and delivering long term and result oriented capacity building plan for various development actors, including state, including familiarity and command over key capacity building approaches and their implementation. • Proven ability in liaising with the provincial government, UN bodies, NGOs, and the media. • Possesses training commands at least on the theme of community mobilization, Participatory Development, Participatory project management, Gender sensitization and planning, Participatory micro planning, Local Governance, advocacy, Training of trainers, Organization management, conflict resolution, Development communication, Process documentation, Participatory rural appraisal, etc. • Proven leadership skills, acquired in a challenging multicultural environment, combined with the energy of a self-starter, imagination, initiative and drive. • Fluency in written and spoken English. Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking two seasoned fundraising professionals to fill the roles of Private Sector Fundraising Officers with one concentrating their efforts in North East Asia and one in South East Asia. These Officers will work under the direction of the Asia Pacific (AP) Area Office - Director, Resource Development and will commit to working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organization in relation to meeting the fundraising goals for our Asia Pacific work. These two positions will be based in HFHI’s AP Area Office in Bangkok, Thailand with the exception that the North East Asia position also includes the possibility of being based in a country relevant to the fundraising efforts of this position.
The Key Objectives and Responsibilities of the positions are as follows:
  1. Establish a strategic and systematic focus on closing major donor commitments from high net-worth individuals and large corporations in assigned countries in collaboration with the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) National Organization (NO) leadership in Resource Development and in consultation with the NO CEO.
  2. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward qualified prospects and donors, developing a portfolio of approximately 100 to 200 qualified relationships in a defined territory and in collaboration and in discussion with the assigned country/region's senior management
  3. Routinely network with Fortune 500 executives, and interact with high net-worth individuals (USD 25M+ in net assets) for the purpose of cultivating personal relationships and developing personal giving and/or corporate giving through such networks developed.
  4. Provide accurate and timely activity and pipeline reports and revenue forecasts.
  5. Convincingly articulate the unique selling proposition.
  6. Guide the development of compelling proposals and oversee the development of creative presentations and reports.
  7. Lead, discuss and help close complex sales such as campaign and endowment gifts, planned gifts, and investment and financial products as they evolve.

  9. Effectively manage HFHI resources including travel and business expenses.

Required Skills:
  1. BA/BS required, MBA and Training in Fundraising in Asian and/or exposure to USA and European region desirable
  2. 5+ years of front-line experience in fundraising from corporations, high net-worth individuals in large, nation-wide setting or regional setting as part of a nationally/regionally deployed team or front-line sales in a corporate setting with a passion for social development projects and marketing
  3. Demonstrated track record or successful fundraising in an environment of similar complexity; Experience in a multi-national federated organization with the ability to thrive

Project Engineer (Grade Equiv. P4), Thursday 22, September 2011


Context:
The objective of the planned three year Management and Care of Irregular Immigrants Project Phase 2 (MCIIP2) is to strengthen and enhance Indonesia's capacity to manage irregular migrants intercepted in Indonesia. Project components will seek to:
• provide for improved residential accommodation for refugees in Batam and improved quarantine facilities in Balikapapan and Jakarta for intercepted irregular migrants taken into custody by Imigrasi; and
• strengthen guidelines together with associated trainings for the management and care of such persons in accordance with international human rights standards and relevant international obligations. In coordination with the Project Manager, MCIIP2 and the overall guidance and responsibility of the Deputy Chief of Mission in Jakarta, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for project site supervision, planning, project controls, monitoring and reporting functions of the civil and structural work activities relevant to IOM projects in Balikpapan, Jakarta and Batam, Indonesia.
Core functions/ responsibilities:
  1. Be responsible in the planning, project controls and field supervision of project works.
  2. Coordinate all technical design, construction, quality, interfacing issues with IOM project management team including technical design supervision consultants, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders under his/her area of expertise.
  3. Prepare detailed refurbishment and implementation plans for each of the three sites which clearly set out cost estimates, activities, milestones, implementation phases and timeframe.
  4. Develop a detailed overall project refurbishment programme and timeframe spanning the three sites.
  5. Develop a detailed and clear risk management plan for the refurbishment project taking account of the local operating environment, challenges working in an immigration quarantine environment, and any local issues relevant to each site.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant IOM guidelines.
  7. Oversee the Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) monitoring of all project work activities during construction, i.e. materials / products are factory tested (FAT) and site tested (SAT), overall testing and testing and commissioning, and through substantial completion / handover of the project.
  8. Supervise with special attention the primary security and fire protection element of the project activities and ensure compliance with national standards.
  9. Prepare reports as needed on the status of project. Prepare and maintain daily site diary report on project team performance as well as periodic reports on the status of the project; ensure the document controls of work related records.
  10. Participate in and contribute to project level coordination meetings with consultants, contractor and stakeholders.
  11. Ensure that document controls are well maintained for internal project audit.
  12. Assist in the overall review of progress payment application by contractors for work completed conforms to the design intent, specifications and method statements.
  13. Interface with local municipalities concerning any problem generated during the course of implementation of the project.
  14. Report any project difficulties/problems in construction process and activities, along with possible solutions to these problems, to Sr. Programme Coordinator.
  15. Undertake duty travel as needed to assist with analysis of scope of works and bills of quantity on refurbishment work under the Imigrasi Quarantine Support project.
  16. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
