Program Manager - CDC FELTP Job Vacancy, Friday 17, February 2012

International Medical Corps is seeking a Program Manager to coordinate and direct the administration of an international, task order-based, epidemiology training contract with CDC. The Program Manager will oversee the implementation of task assignments with varying cost and/or technical complexity. Additionally, this position requires proven experience working with epidemiology training programs.
Responsibilities:
•Provide the overall direction, management and accountability for the field epidemiology and lab training program (FELTP), •Plan and prepare all hiring/staffing plans specific to individual task assignments, •Assist with development of budgets specific to each task assignment, •Work with other International Medical Corps departments, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), subcontractors, and independent consultants on the implementation of the FELTP Support program in various countries, •Review, analyze, and prepare reports and other correspondence on all activities and transactions related to the FELTP Support program, and provide timely information and status updates on program implementation.
Qualifications:
•Advanced degree in public health or related field, •5+ years of international project management experience, with strong financial and personnel management expertise, •Prior successful experience managing large, complex CDC or USAID funded projects, •Experience working effectively with international and headquarters staff, as well as donor agencies, government officials, and other NGOs; the ability to work with a broad spectrum of people, •Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently, •Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations, •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, •Proficiency in English is required, •Experience managing training programs desired.

Emergency Preparedness Evaluation, Tuesday 8, Fevruary 2012


Objective of the EoI
OCHA is seeking the services of three consultants, one senior consultant (team leader) and two mid-level consultants to conduct an evaluation of the Organization’s role and activities in emergency response preparedness. The evaluation will be commissioned by OCHA Evaluation and Guidance Section in New York and will involve missions in three/four countries, and will be conducted over a period of six months from April to October 2012.

ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING:
The Policy Specialist position is located in the Division of Management Services (DMS) Directorate. The DMS Directorate is responsible for overseeing operations of various DMS branches; furthermore the DMS Directorate plays a key role in the coordination of activities within UNFPA and other UN organizations. The incumbent of this position will report to the Director, DMS and work directly with the DMS Branch Chiefs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Draft new policies and procedures for all related administrative services with the objective to reduce centralized processing and ensure quality and cost savings by delegation of responsibility for execution and accountability to staff, including graphic representation of workflows; • Draft training tools and user friendly guidelines that effectively disseminate administrative policies and procedures to user units enhancing utilization and allowing effective monitoring; • Conduct monitoring exercise and draft staff surveys tracking policy performance, adherence and effectiveness, identifying both compliance issues and opportunities for procedural innovations; • Generate reports for UNFPA senior management on policy performance; • Conduct client satisfaction surveys with regards to administrative policies and procedures; • Ensure compatibility of the policy with the UN common system by working with other UN organizations; • Continually assesses external sources for administrative service delivery, expertise and technology ensuring UNFPA is using the most appropriate methods available while modeling progressive deployment of administrative resources; • Ensure that Field Offices are aware to confidently perform administrative functions with minimal oversight and control from HQ; • Serve as DMS administrative policy Focal Point and provide support to the DMS Helpdesk on all issues relating to these policies; • Liaise and work closely with the PPM Secretariat to ensure all DMS policies are up to date; • Liaise and work closely with the Business Practice Team to ensure adequate analysis of processes to be included in the policies and procedures; • Liaise and work closely with the Business Plan Team to ensure DMS policies are aligned with the business plan needs • Perform any other activity as required in order to assure the success of the work team in support of the UNFPA mandate and strategy.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Journalism, or Social Sciences • 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience at the national level in public administration and development of which 3 years should be at the international level in the field of management • Candidate should have strong writing skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels, initiative and sound judgment, ability to act independently under limited supervision, to assess and evaluate issues, make recommendations. • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Knowledge of French or Spanish additional UN languages desirable

Position Summary: Ashoka is seeking a Salesforce Platform Data Quality Manager to drive the cleanup of our database and set in place long-term practices that will maintain data integrity. The Salesforce Platform Data Quality Manager will also oversee and provide support functions for Strategic Resources, Global Marketing, ITI and Executive Office teams by playing a central role in executing major marketing campaigns through the usage of advanced database marketing tools, direct mail, and e-mail lists. Also, this position will entail the application of models and selection criteria to create new campaigns within the database, extraction of lists and utilization of the system to update records with contact history data.
