The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Office in Ireland is seeking a motivated and flexible team player to fill the following vacancy :
Protection Associate (G-6)
Under the supervision of the Head of Office and in close co-operation with other members of the team, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
• Advise on developments in national jurisprudence and legislation; • Follow-up on protection issues raised by or on behalf of persons of concern; • Assist in the delivery of training, advice and other supports to the national authorities and key stakeholders; • Maintain and develop networks with key partners in Ireland and with protection colleagues under the UNHCR Regional Representation for Western Europe; • Undertake international travel on mission as required; • Performs other duties as required.
Education: Secondary education is required and a third level degree in a relevant discipline is desirable. Languages: Fluency in oral and written English and another relevant UN Language Skills: Communication skills, computer skills, good knowledge of UNHCR’s protection mandate, excellent drafting ability.
